Happy Birthday to a wonderful father and father-in-law! Thank you for everything you do for us and we hope you have a great day, because you deserve it!

What a Week!

What a roller coaster ride of emotions this past week has brought us.  In August we found out that we would have to move out of our beloved on-campus housing due to construction.  Our friends Katie and Dave helped us find a nice apartment across the street from the Ross University Campus.  On Tuesday, Brandon and I met with our new landlord and signed a contract and put down a deposit for our new place.  We our sad to leave the safety and security of on-campus living, but are excited about moving into our new place in January.  Unfortunately, on Friday we found out that construction will  start sooner rather than later and we will have to find temporary housing for two months until our new place is ready in January.  The hunt for a safe, convenient, and affordable place is on! 

Welcome To Our Pack!

This week marked the first week of school at Ross Prep.  Last year I taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten and this summer I found out that I was being moved to first and second grade.  This change could not have come at a better time in our lives! With Brandon studying and at school a lot, this is the perfect time to pour all my heart and soul into this new teaching adventure.  I have a wonderful class and I am looking forward to a great school year!  Here are some pictures of my classroom pack!

Our school mascot is a turtle! There are turtles all around the school!

Each teacher has a "turtle board" outside of their classroom and we write an encouraging message to our students each week!

Hurricane Earl Visits St. Kitts!

Monday, Brandon and I experienced our first hurricane here on the island. It was an interesting experience to say the least. We hunkered down and hoped for the best. Here is a couple of images from the aftermath of Hurricane Earl.

Family Vacation: St. Kitts Style!

This past week, our parents came to visit us in St. Kitts. They were greeted at the airport with the news that Brandon is moving on to fifth semester (there are three more to go)! It was a great week full of fun, laughter, and GREAT times! We were sad to see them go, but we are looking forward to traveling back to the USA for Christmas!

We were excited to have our parents come visit and also to have a couple weeks off from school! 

This is called the Circus.  It is in the center of Basseterre (the capitol city of St. Kitts).

This is one of the Green Vervet monkeys that are found around the island.  Our dads are still trying to find a way to get one back to Texas!
