Christmas Catamaran

This weekend, as I was busy moving, I took time to enjoy a catamaran trip that was hosted by one of my students and his family.  It was a great time had by all and a great way to unwind after a busy weekend!

Chris and Christy!

This past weekend Brandon stayed busy with studying for finals, and I am steadily working hard to get our apartment ready for our move on Thursday! We will be flying to the great state of Texas in just three days.  This trip is bitter sweet, because we will be saying goodbye to our good friends Chris and Christy.  Chris has completed his seven semesters here on the island and they will be moving to Louisiana for his clinical year at LSU.  They have helped Brandon and I make St. Kitts our home away from home.  Christy has been my friend, mentor and confidant.  Chris has been the same for Brandon during our time here. We wish them all the best in this new chapter in their lives!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

On Thursday, the students at the prep school performed a skit based on the book Santa Cows by Cooper Edens.  It was very well done, and the kids had a great time. Santa made a special visit to St. Kitts and gave out Christmas presents to all of the kids.  They were very excited!  Only one week and six days till Brandon and I are Texas bound!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Brandon and I enjoyed our second Thanksgiving on the island Thursday.  We had lunch with our prep school family and then headed to the Marriott Golf Course for dinner with our church family.  It was nice, but we missed the festivities that were happening in the great state of Texas!  The countdown is on for December 27, 2010 when we will be back in the USA for Christmas!

Good News and Bad News

The good news is that there are NO snakes on St. Kitts.  The bad news is there are centipedes. They are extremely quick and have a painful bite.  I encountered this critter on my walk up to the apartment.  It was met by my screams for Brandon to come and get it.  Thank goodness it was not in our house!

Sunday Fun Day!

On Sunday afternoon, our friends Christy and Chris invited us to go zip lining through the rainforest with them and their brother and sister-in-law. I have been wanting to do this for some time, so we took them up on their invitation.  We had so much fun!  Here is some pictures from our rainforest adventure!

Christy and I! She teaches third and fourth grade at the prep school and I teach first and second.  She is an awesome teacher and friend!

St. Kitt's Rainbow

And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.
