Surgery and Tests! Oh My!

Brandon will take his anesthesiology test today.  This will see if he is prepared to start surgery this semester.  I managed to get this picture of him trying on some of his surgery gear.  We are hoping everything goes as planned!

Extreme Makeover: Apartment Edition

We flew back to St. Kitts knowing that we would have to move into our new apartment.  When Brandon and I opened the door, this is what we found:

Dog Hair (And Lots of It)! After waking up at 2:00 in the morning to catch our flight and a full day of traveling all we wanted to do was crash, NOT clean!  This was my breaking point and if we would have had a car (remember Freddy is dead) we would have went to stay at the Marriott. With lots of team work and a lot of elbow grease, I can finally say that this place is starting to feel like home.  Here is some pictures of the “after” part of this makeover:

Were Back!

Brandon and I are back on the island after two and a half weeks in Texas.  We had a great time visiting with family and friends and just enjoying the luxuries that we once took for granted.  Just being able to hop into a car and knowing it would start was a great feeling. Don’t worry, I made up for lost time shopping.  It was a great break, and we were sad to leave.

Happy Holidays from The Schultes!

Home for the Holidays!

We had quite the time making it home for Christmas.  With finals, Brandon’s ability to help me with the moving process was definitely limited.  So on Friday, the day we flew out, we hit the ground running and started distributing our things to our wonderful friends. They so graciously offered to let us store things at their apartments over the break since our apartment was not going to be ready until we got back.  On the way home to pick up our last load, our car (Freddy) died.  His transmission went out and Brandon and I were left stranded on the side of the road.  I was already a nervous wreck and this just put me over the edge.  We called our dear friends Chris and Christy and they rushed to our aide.  I told Brandon Freddy could just sit there for all I cared, I was not going to miss that flight.  Brandon called the mechanic and I called a co-worker who picked up the rest of our things.  We took a quick shower, cleaned-up our old apartment, and checked out with our landlord in a matter of an hour.  Our friends Chris and Christy dropped us off at the airport while our friend Jake followed behind us with our luggage.  I am happy to say we made it with time to spare and we can add this to our list of “St. Kitts Experiences.”
